It’s no coincidence that we’ve been launching this new chapter of Mad Dash with March at our feet: today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day — and if you haven’t already guessed, fierce females are kinda our thing!

First, let’s drop some knowledge. International Women’s Day is the global recognition and celebration of all things girl: that’s all of the political, social, creative, influential, and intellectual achievements of womankind. More than that, it’s a part of a living, breathing movement that finds no home in any specific charity, group, or organization, but rather in the hearts of all those who champion women and their equal, powerful offering to society at large! Now, International Women’s Day is actually nothing new (it was first celebrated in 1909, if you can believe it!) but it’s celebration is taking on new meaning with recent campaigns and waves of activism. Today, it most readily signifies a call for gender parity — sounds like our kind of party!

We at the Mad Dash blog are all about women: how we live, how we love, how we wed, and how we hustle. We’re here to band together with our women in arms, cry real tears, laugh with full hearts, and pour the occasional (fabulous) cocktail after a long day’s work. We’re all girl, all the time, with a dash of sass and a shower of confetti, and our biggest, boldest, most unicorn wish is that you would celebrate the beautiful mess that is womanhood right alongside us!

So today, on this most significant of days, we raise our collective glasses of bubbly to all the rebel girls and those who support them — stay real, stay fabulous, and as ever, stay fierce!
