Let’s establish from the get go that this review may be slightly biased. The Big Easy Oven + Tap is like a third home for the two of us given the owner lives with Brooke in holy matrimony. From the plants to decor to overall branding, you’ll find touches of us as soon as you walk through the door.
Kevin, Brooke’s husband, and his business partner Andy, own and operate the restaurant located in Cary, North Carolina. The restaurant is a southern-rooted kitchen with New Orleans influences. What spot is more appropriate to promote on Fat Tuesday than a restaurant featuring Louisiana inspired dishes?
From gator bites to po’ boys, the menu appeals to anyone wanting a quick taste trip to the Big Easy. And if jambalaya or gumbo really isn’t your thing, opt for the more southern-based choices like chicken-and-waffles or shrimp-n-grits.
And in case we forgot to mention, our favorite meal of the day is served every Saturday and Sunday – brunch. With special menu features and a Build-Your-Own Mimosa/Bloody Mary bar, you can find us wasting away the weekend on their outdoor patio with drink in hand.
